Helio Castroneves blog from Chicago Tribune-
I had planned to write a column about working out, but I feel like I need to talk about what happened at the Edmonton IZOD IndyCar Series race last weekend.
I need to apologize for my actions after the race. I lost control of my emotions and I’m sincerely sorry. I overreacted after we were called for a penalty that ultimately cost us a win. I acted inappropriately to league officials who I respect, I’ve known for years and I consider friends. I apologize to the officials, to the fans, to the series, to our sponsors and to my team. What I did was inexcusable.
In the future, I will do a better job of controlling my emotions. As most of you know, I’m a very emotional person, and in this instance those emotions came out in a negative way. I hope everyone can forgive me for losing it in the heat of the moment.(Chicago Tribune) |
