Hideki Mutoh switches to Newman Haas Racing for the 2010 season. Last year, with Andretti Green, Mutoh finished tenth in the points standings, having garnered four top-fives, and eight top-tens.
Hideki Mutoh claimed rookie of the year honors for the 2008 season, and posted a 10th place finish in the season standings for Andretti Green Racing. Mutoh posted one top-five and one top-ten for his rookie season.
Previously, Mutoh scored two victories in 2007 in the Indy Pro Series coming at Indianapolis (road course) and Kentucky, earning Rookie of the Year honors by finishing second in the Indy Pro Series for the 2007 season . That same year, Mutoh made his IndyCar Series debut at Chicagoland Speedway (2007) where he started 13th and finished eighth . In 2006, he was named Rookie of the Year in the Super GT-500 Class.
He started racing at age 12 ... when not at the track, he enjoys mountain climbing, playing tennis and throwing darts ... he also enjoys biking, running and weight training to keep in top condition for the racing season.
