The beginning of 2010 found Graham Rahal without a ride for the season, but, just days before the season-start, Sarah Fisher offered Rahal a seat in her #67 ride for St. Pete and Barber Motorsports Park, and Long Beach. The rest of the season remains yet to be determined. The driver also appeared in the #30 seat for his father's RLR team at the 2010 Indy 500, and Iowa Speedway for D&RR. Update-as of Toronto, Rahal wil race in the 02 for 6 races with NHR in a partnership with RLR. Last year, Rahal finished seventh in the points standings with five top-fives and nine top-tens.
Graham Rahal finished seventeenth for Newman Haas Lanigan in his rookie season of the IndyCar series in 2008, the highlight being his victory in St. Pete, earning him the ‘youngest driver to win in Indycar” prestige. Graham also had one top-5 and four top-10’s. 2009 found Rahal again with NHLR.
Graham Rahal is a second generation racer, son of 1986 Indy 500 winner, and current series team owner, Bobby Rahal. a successful go-kart racer, Rahal has quickly escalated in the racing world, reaching the indycar series just 5 yrs. after his first race in a car. In 2007, the young driver debuted in the Champ Car World Series with Newman/Haas/Lanigan Racing. He finished second in only the third race of the season, which put him in the record books as the youngest ever podium finisher in Champ Car history. The year before, Rahal competed in Champ Car Formula Atlantic Championship for Mi-Jack Conquest Racing in a car sponsored by Gehl, finishing Runner Up in overall points standings and became the youngest winner ever of an Atlantics race. He notched numerous season records including most race wins, with five victories, most laps led, most fastest race laps (five events), highest ranking prize money winner, best average qualifying position, posted new qualifying lap records at three events, and new lap records at four tracks. Rahal was awarded the BBS of America Rising Star Award.
In 2005, Graham finished fourth in the Star Mazda Championship presented by Goodyear driving for Andersen Walko Racing. Won race at Portland Int?l Raceway in Portland, Ore. to become the youngest race winner ever in the history of the series at the age of 16. Was on the podium in six of the 12 events; finished second by inches in his first oval-track race ever at Pikes Peak International Raceway. Also became the youngest SCCA national champion ever at the Runoffs when he was won the Formula Atlantic national championship, a title his father won 30 years earlier.
