Ryan Hunter-Reay will be in an Andretti Autosport seat for 2010, with the number of races yet to be determined,as he is only confirmed through Texas.Update-Though running with IZOD sponsorship through Texas, Hunter-Reay secured a deal with Iowa corn growing groups to run at Iowa Speedway.Update Watkins Glen-RHR secures sponsorship with IZOD and other groups for a full-season run.
Ryan Hunter-Reay entered the 2009 IndyCar Series season rideless, before landing a seat in a Vision Racing entry right before the season-opener in St. Pete. Mid-season, the driver switched to AJ Foyt Racing after Vitor Meira's season-ending injury at the Indy 500. He finished the season in 15th, with two top-fives,and three top-tens.
 
In 2008, Hunter-Reay competed for Rahal Letterman Racing and posted one win, at Watkins Glen, and 11 top-ten finishes (including the non-points race at Surfers Paradise). Prior to that, 2007 found Ryan garnering Rookie of the Year honors in the IRL, and competing in select GrandAm events, including the 24 Hours of Daytona; Hunter-Reay participated in GrandAm events in 2006.
                        
Prior racing experience found Hunter-Reay competing in Champ Car from 2003 until 2005, and before that-Atlantics, Barber Doge Series, and three national karting championships.
 
Hunter-Reay says that, if he wasn’t in racing, he would like to be in pro football, or a fighter pilot.
Away from the track, the driver is a big Miami Dolphins fan, enjoys water sports such as surfing, jet-skiing, boating. Also, golfing and mountain-biking.
