Simona de Silvestro enters the 2010 season as one of the rookie contenders. Last year she finished third in the Atlantic Championship for Team Stargate Worlds, becoming the winningest female driver in series history with four wins, four poles and nine podium finishes in 12 starts. In 2008, she finished eighth in the points standings, and claimed her first race in the Atlantics with a win at Long Beach in a Newman Wachs Racing entry. The prior year was her rookie season, where she earned two top-ten finishes.
Simona’s earlier career involved Formula BMW stints and Formula Renault 2000, and French Formula A series. Her other notable achievements consist of earning a second-place finish in the Trofeo Industria Parma, finishing fifth in Wintercup Lonato and third in Primavera Lonato.
